FREDERIK LEROY | GR3 | FA |
The Biblical name Ephraim is given to a person who has reached the age of 90. The work Ephraim is therefore dedicated to 90-year-old Aimé Leroy, grandfather of composer Frederik Leroy, who is a musical example for his children, grandchildren and meanwhile great-grandchildren. In addition to a reference to the number of years of life, the title name Ephraim also contains the anagram of "Aimé" and "Fre" (derik), the composer.
The piece Ephraim shows the course of a festive birthday. All guests arrive in the first part. The mood is cheerful, stately and cheerful. All invitees are dressed at their best and carry the gifts for the birthday boy.
The second part of Ephraim is nostalgic in terms of atmosphere. The guests reflect on the past and take a look at the deceased relatives. Finally, the party continues. The wine flows abundantly and there is laughter, pleasure and partying. Fun anecdotes are incited and the party continues into the early hours. On to the 100!
This work is provided with the necessary cues for orchestras with a less favorable line-up.
