FREDERIK LEROY | GR3.5 | FA |
'Legend of the Leprechauns' by composer Frederik Leroy takes us to the imaginative mythical world where no one has ever been. Deep in the forests of Ireland hide small naughty gnomes in green plunger with red whiskers, the Leprechauns. They like to play jokes. Strangely enough, every Leprechaun is a shoemaker. Just not such a good one, because they tap nails in just one shoe. A second shoe is nowhere to be found.
This is how they restore the shoes of the fairies (part 1: The Fairy and the Leprechaun). Quite unexpectedly, the listener is sucked into the world of the Leprechauns (part 2: Mytical World). They put the gold pieces they receive in pots and hide them from the greedy person at the end of the rainbow. (part 3: Golden Rainbow Treasure) When night falls after work done, the Leprechauns change to Clurichaunen. They indulge in beer. If you are nice to a Clurichaun, he will guard your wine cellar. If you don't, your wine will spoil.
They also like to tease drunk people. (Part 4: Dance of the Clurichaunen)
This work is provided with the necessary cues for orchestras with a less favorable line-up.
