Shalan Alhamwy was commissioned by Kammersymphonie Berlin to compose a work for cello solo and orchestra, it was premiered in the Philmarmony Berlin in 2019.

In the work Reminiscenza, Shalan Alhamwy lets the cello resonate with lyrical melodies, accompanied by a dense harmonic texture by the strings, a rather nostalgic atmosphere with Eastern influences. The lyrical parts alternate with light, graceful sections where the cello flies over fast passages and builds up to a virtuoso cadenza.
