JASMIEN VANDEWALLE | GR3,5 | HA (OPT. DRUMCORPS|
During World War 1 students from the St Stanislas College of Poperinge (flanders-Belgium) had to flee to the castle of Martragny in Normandy (France). “Mirror on Martragny 18-19” was composed on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of this event.
It is a story about war violence, fleeing, staying in a strange environment and musing about home, the return, the confrontation with the scars of war violence, and looking forward to the future with hope. A story written in the context of WWI, and which unfortunately still applies in the present time.
Orchestration: Wind band with optional drumcorps
Difficulty: Grade 3/3,5
